Lost the power, network or volume icons in Windows 7?

In Windows 7 those useful little icons for power/battery, network/WiFi and sound volume in the bottom right-hand part of the screen can sometimes go missing, here’s how to get them back: –

• Click the Start button, type “Customize icons” in the search box and then click Customize icons on the task bar. Or click the little up-arrow and click Customize …
• Click Turn system icons on or off, and then set Volume, Network, and Power System to On.
• Click OK, make sure that the behaviors for the Power, Network, and Volume icons are set correctly, and then click OK.

You can also change the behaviour of other icons, there are some that you might want to always see, so change their setting to Show Icon and Notifications.
